Photographing musicians is up there on my list of favorite things to do. I especially love doing lifestyle shoots with them. On this chilly December day, I worked with Gracie Day who just recently released a full band EP. Not only is Gracie good on guitar and the mic, but she’s also great in font of the camera. We went into downtown Niantic which has a lot of boutiques, and a movie theater. Here’s a few of my favorite shots of her.
Some people were born to be in front of the camera, Danica is one of those people. The camera loves her, and no matter what she does, it creates a beautiful photo. My original location for our session was going to be downtown in a city, but when the snow came I thought it was a perfect opportunity to take advantage of the snowy landscape and embrace nature.
I went to school with Iris when we were growing up, and I was so excited to meet her husband and her son Aedan when I photographed them for a Mommy & Me Session. Aedan was so excited about the sunflowers, all I had to do was click away and capture him naturally.
I met Alisha and Paityn on a warm summer afternoon to do a Mommy & Me Mini Session in the rolling sunflower fields. Capturing the beauty of their relationship was easy, and they were so much fun to be around. There’s only a limited amount of slots left for the August Special Mommy & Me Mini at Buttonwoods. Contact me today to book your session!
Sailfest is one of my favorite summer events, there’s great music, awesome food, and mind blowing fireworks in evening. This year I got to cover it, and what an amazing experience it was. Growing up I used to go with my friends for a couple of hours, but looking at it through my camera for the entire day changed my whole perspective of of the event. I got to talk with people I never would have otherwise met, and I learned so much because of it. Living right near by is a luxury, so I grabbed by camera and took a shuttle down to the festival on a melting hot afternoon. I found myself in an ocean of people between tents of small businesses displaying their handmade clothing, jewelry, and food. Many cultures came together, and I met some very interesting people with great stories of their lives.
As I write this post, I’m sitting in a cabin that aligns with the tree tops during a treacherous rainstorm in Yosemite, California. So far, this trip with my fiancé has been an extreme adventure. We started out in Santa Clarita and stayed in a luxurious apartment. Seeing the LA sights was a lot of fun, but we were excited to head north into the mountains.
